Meet Tanesha – a very sweet African American girl who is looking for a permanent place in a family that loves her and believes in her. Like most girls her age, Tanesha loves shopping at the mall and buying clothes. At times, she can be quiet and shy. Because of a traumatic past, she receives therapy and mentoring services. She has also been in a residential facility where she has benefited from intensive treatment. Tanesha will be counting on her new family to help her overcome issues related to trust and personal safety. A single mom with good parenting skills or a therapeutic foster family interested in making a permanent commitment through adoption are the recommended family environments for Tanesha. She will need a family up to the task of showing her how to develop a sense of belonging and a sense of trust so she can feel protected, loved, and respected. Are you that family? (source)
