The “Vast Rightwing Conspiracy” tells me that these men are much more likely to have HIV or AIDS or somesuch when compared to men who do not live a promiscuous male-to-male relationship lifestyle. I am not educated in biology or matters of intercourse to know the reasoning or science behind it, however. If it’s true, then this could be putting a lot of lives at risk, I would think. That would be quite sad, to put ones agenda before the wellbeing and very lives of others. If it’s false, then there should be no problems.

I wonder, is it unreasonable for all donated blood to be tested for HIV/AIDS? If I wasn’t about to go to bed, I might research it a little.

It seems that our local blood bank loves to get lesbians to donate blood! I am a lesbian, no not a lesbian that sleeps with men, those women are not lesbians they are bisexuals. It seems that lesbians have one of the lowest risk of getting or transmitting HIV/AIDS. All persons that are in good health should be allowed to donate blood. With that said all blood should be tested not only for HIV/AIDS but also all of the other necessary test to verify the blood is “useable”. There are plenty of gay men that do not have HIV/AIDS and lead a healthy lifestyle who would like to donate blood. Let them!

all blood is tested for hiv and other blood-borne diseases before it is banked. i don’t think it is important what people think or say on the matter, it is not in accordance with the bill of rights which pretty much makes it illegal according to the constitutional court, it is far beyond the limitation stage of human rights and i am surprised that the situation has not yet been rectified.

The bigger point is with the epidemic of AIDS rampant on the Continent should anyone be donating blood.

The safety of the blood supply is paramount. If there is not a reliable testing mechanism for blood, then that calls into question why they are accepting blood donations from anyone (since anyone who is sexually active or has received a blood transfusion can be exposed to the virus that causes HIV/AIDS).
