THE DOWNTOWN SHOW: THE NEW YORK ART SCENE 1974 – 1984: A retrospective
of the legendary New York art scene of the ’70s and early ’80s. Art by
legends like Basquiat, Patti Smith, Richard Hell, Cindy Sherman and
more. The Downtown Show features approximately 200 paintings,
sculptures, drawings, graffiti, videos, and photographs as well as
over 100 items from Fales Library, New York University’s rare book and
manuscript collection, which is the largest repository of
materialsâ€â€including books, photographs, videos, printed journals, and
ephemeraâ€â€relating to the Downtown New York scene.
