This was something I have heard over the past couple of years regarding how the Black community consistently votes for the Democratic party. This phrase was especially common during last year’s State of the Black Union series. If you listen to many Black bloggers and media reports, Blacks are becoming sold on Barack Obama.
For sometime now I have been asking “Besides his skin color, what is the draw that has black folks becoming convinced that he should become the next president?” Unfortunately I have yet to get a straight answer that makes any real sense on a practical level. Luckily over the weekend I found a website that keeps a running list on where each candidate stands on the issues. Wanting to see the differences between Obama and Hillary, I printed out both of their profiles. The differences were barely noticeable. Below is a graphical representation on where both candidates stand on the issues.

As you can see, the differences are barely noticeable.

What is the key issue that has a growing number of Blacks looking to Barack, or am I looking too deep?
