If you do not know by now, TVOne will be broadcasting The Wiz all Thanksgiving day. Even though I have this movie on DVD, I know that I will still manage to see it at least twice today.
I love black musicals. This is why I am looking forward to the upcoming black musical featuring Outkast called IdleWild.
A few things on The Wiz:
*The crow scene would not have made it past post production today
* I didn’t know there were tornadoes in New York.
*Quincy Jones is in the movie. Can you locate him?
*Dorothy was played by whom in the original stage production of The Wiz?
*Mable King plays whom?
*My mom feels that the reason why they gave Stephanie Mills the boot from the role was because of her physical appearance compared to Diana Ross. If that was the case, that was a very stupid move ’cause Mills could ALWAYS sing Ross under the table, out of the house, and onto the freeway.
