GRAND RAPIDS — Ed Eursher Sr. owns the Shell gas station/Subway shop at Boston Street and Kalamazoo Avenue on Grand Rapids’ southeast side, the one where a gunman shot his 27-year-old son in the chest Friday night.
Ed Eursher Jr. is recovering, and his father said he’s “doing good. He doing good. They got that bullet out, man. That was a good thing.”
The shop is a family-owned business, often with five children working the counter. Friday, the younger Eursher gave the gunman the money he demanded, but in a confrontation with customers, Eursher was shot.
With friends and well-wishers pulling for a speedy recovery, the elder Eursher is trying to stay strong. “It’s extremely tough to hold your composure while a child of yours suffers for something he dreamed of. Something they put together.” (more…)
