It is truly beautiful that humans exist in so many shapes and colors. Humans can be the most intelligent or stupidest. the fact that throughout history, we have taken (in my opinion this beautiful variety) and classified it as superior/inferior just boggles my mind. Isn't it just time to act as humans and think about what the basis of all this racism is. once you do that you just find racism, really insulting to real human intelligence. I have lived most my life in a small rural town in Arkansas. Most people here are poor and uneducated as compared to other U.S cities,and that includes blacks & whites. Now I personally grew up middle class with educated conservative parents and I am a Black female.Up until 3rd grade all of my friends where white because that was who my neighbors were, as we got older they pulled away as is still the custom in this town today based on race relations. The "poor ghetto" black  children use to tease & taunt me about how"proper" I spoke,and the clothes(fancy I guess)I wore etc.This was always frustrating as a child because i couldn't relate to the socially to the 'poor black' kids and the white children,whom I most related to socially, where being told by racist parents not play with me. Eventually I became a loner because it wasn't races that were rejecting me but ignorance. At the time i couldn't relate to white race that was "poor and hillybillyish" either. Because I  physically"looked" like the black people who I was socially different than I was expected to be like them also.It was a hard fit then and sometimes at 30 yr. old it still is. I mean poor dumb people of any race who haven't been taught good morals or ethics and ecspecially wealthy ignorance breeds hatred and dissatisfaction towards others. I have learned not to judge every black person in this country town who laughs when I speak or makes fun of the fact that i jog and eat healthy! nor do I hate every white person because some have difficulty accepting me in person but over the phone (when they think they are speaking with an "educated" white woman) hums a different tone when I show up black! So its not the color that makes people bad or good but the way you treat someone else race should not be the determining factor. I have also learned that being attractive and well spoken with a good reputation helps to reduce being discriminated against. At the end of the day I am happy with me and I just look over ignorance & aim to treat others the way I would want to be treated,fair. Its not the country but the people who live here. I do get frustrated somedays though & wonder why God didn't just make us all the same color?-haha. But I learn to understand is what made people to become racist is how someone can originate from being racist. Meaning I can also say that I am racist because I have experienced racism in reverse since people are being racist towards me then they're influencing me to do the same. We're born that way.  Studies have proven that we like our own color and physical characteristics more than another's.  The trick is educating oneself and one's children to love other races (or at least accept them), and to think outside the stereotypes.  I have lived in the States, France and Italy, and I have seen racism in all three countries.  I've also seen a lot of acceptance.  A lot of racism comes from fear: fear of the unknown, fear of cultural differences from a new immigration population, or fear that a new race will take all the jobs because they are willing to work for less money.  Since 9/11, we have made fear a selling point, even going so far as to be willing to lose some basic civil rights. (The Patriot Act makes me want to gag). If we get a good education and work hard, we can all succeed.  We have to teach our children that.  We cannot blame others for our failures.  Yes, this country was built on slavery, we cannot deny that, but it's time to put it aside.  If you look at American history, almost every immigrant group was hated at first by the locals.  The Irish, the Italians, the Chinese, the Vietnamese, the Mexicans, etc.  It is all because we are so fearful that we will lose something while they gain something.  It's crazy thinking! Everyone is racist, to a certain extent. We’re born that way.  Studies have proven that we like our own color and physical characteristics more than another’s.  The trick is educating oneself and one’s children to love other races (or at least accept them), and to think outside the stereotypes.  I have lived in the States, France and Italy, and I have seen racism in all three countries.  I’ve also seen a lot of acceptance.  A lot of racism comes from fear: fear of the unknown, fear of cultural differences from a new immigration population, or fear that a new race will take all the jobs because they are willing to work for less money.  Since 9/11, we have made fear a selling point, even going so far as to be willing to lose some basic civil rights. (The Patriot Act makes me want to gag).

If we get a good education and work hard, we can all succeed.  We have to teach our children that.  We cannot blame others for our failures.  Yes, this country was built on slavery, we cannot deny that, but it’s time to put it aside.  If you look at American history, almost every immigrant group was hated at first by the locals.  The Irish, the Italians, the Chinese, the Vietnamese, the Mexicans, etc.  It is all because we are so fearful that we will lose something while they gain something.  It’s crazy thinking!

I live in Miami, we aren't very racist. I do agree that south Florida makes fun of the caucasian and north Florida makes fun of any non-caucasian. However, that population is that huge, because in all reality most of us get a long in Miami, even though most of us say some hateful things in the moment, we definitely get over and move on.
