Ditto, Ditto, Ditto to Duane on this article. I was listening to Larry Elder today discussing the claim “They don’t care about us because we’re all black. If it was a bunch of white folks down here- they’d have food, clothes, etc. delivered here already.” This made me just shake my head. You have rescuers being shot at, mobs of people trying to hyjack ambulances, armed folks in wait for helicopters to land…C’MON PEOPLE!!!! Now, do I believe every exaggerated report I hear on Fox. No.

However, reportedly, more money has been received for this tragedy by major outfits like Red Cross & Salvation Army, than was received for the Tsunami and 9-11. C’MON PEOPLE!!!!!! If people didn’t want to help, they wouldn’t be donating. Now, in all fairness, I’m not there. I’m not experiencing the desperation. And to them, it probably does seem like help is not coming fast enough. People are dying around them, family members are missing and their home city has virtually been wiped off of the map. It’s a tough situation. When it’s all said and done, I just hope that the infamous black pseudo leaders (namely Jesse) don’t come out when the dust clears to capitalize on the backs of dead New Orleans citizens.

Not that I know of besides The Potter’s House (T.D. Jakes). Also keep in mind that because many of the victims are black, as long as it is a reputable organization, it will get to our peeps!

Are there any African American Relief Funds out there that will funnel aid to black organizations that can get it to black folks in the affected areas?
