janet could never sing. it’s just that more people are starting to figure that out. and frankly, as non-singing high-paid dancers go, ciara has taken over. so i’m sure she’s grateful to janet for paving the way, but it’s time for janet to sit it down. or do something else.

I think that Janet did better when she was under Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis. Back then, her videos and her live performance relied heavily on her dancing skills and not just her voice (which btw sounds common in a sea of other Black female singers that were inspired by her when they were young). Now she is trying to compete with the Beyonce’s of the world and just can’t hang. The fresher the face, the better off you will be in the music industry. This is especially true for women, unfortunately.

BTW. Madonna bombed out as well here in the US. The reason why she has some staying power in Europe is because she moved into the techno genre. There, you don’t have to have a “voice”, just a good DJ that will droun you out (I’m laughing here )

Go strike your self down. Janet Jackson is one of the best female performers out there. Madonna can’t sing either but that didn’t stop her label from promoting her. Virgin got greedy and felt that because it was Janet they didn’t have to promote. JD better stand by his woman.
