Anybody who is familiar with Atlanta knows Dekalb county. For the years we lived on the north side of town, it was so nice to see all the new construction with Blacks from around the country filling those homes. If you either live in that area now or used to, share your thoughts on the transformation of this county (both good and bad).
This is another one of those counties I would like to spend time researching (Prince George’s county is the other county).

In 1870, the first census after the Civil War counted 2,680 African-Americans among DeKalb County’s 10,014 residents. Today, blacks make up 55 percent of DeKalb’s population, a majority that translates into leadership roles in county government, business, education, religion and other endeavors.
