Open source is definetly the way to go. OS offers so much more in the way of creativity, expansion and such. Believe it or not, MS is on its last leg. There has not been a major OS development from them in about 5 years. That's a lifetime in tech terms. They keep changing and removing items from the new Vista that is scheduled to come out. The Firefox web browser is growing at substantial rates because Internet Explorer is just not that good.
