Hello, my name is Woodi Holmes, owner & operator of the huge African American website directory BLACK REFER. Black Refer was founded in June of 2002, and our goal has been to bring you, ” our surfing audience” a fresh and interesting way of looking at human compiled directories. We believe in not only bringing you the popular African American websites, but also those hard to find unique ones.
We feel that Black Refer fills a void for those seeking information about African American culture. Many popular websites on the internet (perhaps not intentional) have omitted much valuable information about African American figures, and we feel the accomplishments of these wonderful human beings should be brought to light. But that does not mean Black Refer is exclusive to African Americans, but it means we are the PEOPLES website, and welcome all to share in the Black experience.
We are adding new and exciting Black websites on a daily basis, so very soon Black Refer will be one of the largest Black directories on the net. We chose the name BLACK REFER because that’s exactly what our site is, a huge referral site to quality African American websites. We looked the word refer up in the dictionary before we bought this domain name, and it reads:
(1)…To direct the attention or thoughts of.
(2)…To direct for information or anything required.
(3)…To hand over or submit for information, consideration, decision, etc.
This is exactly what we’re trying to accomplish, by directing our surfers to information that’s African American in nature.
