Shopping for a new vehicle? This is a good start.

2005Chrysler Shopping for a new vehicle? This is a good start. If fuel economy is important to you, fueleconomy.gov is a great place to start when considering a new vehicle. I have used it and it has helped me to rule out some very tempting choices that had awful MPG.

Note: I have thought about getting this car for some time now. My wife told me that she thought it looked too “flashy”.I disagreed with her at first, but after my visit to the Chrysler dealer the other night, not only did I begin to agree with her, but I was greatly disappointed with my test drive in this vehicle. Mind you, I am comparing the ride in this car to a 2005 Toyota Avalon (both cars are pretty much in the same class). Yeah, I know that this car has received a boatload of awards, but for me the look did not match the ride I was looking for. Currently looking elsewhere.

And besides, everybody and their Momma (out here in SoCal) is driving this car.

I definitely would like to hear your opinions on this car (I’ve been wanting to talk about this car on this site for a good while).

On biz travel, I rented this car 3 times. I had a base model and the more upscale model. Plus I drove a co-worker’s high end model.

I find it hard to see out of the back. On one biz trip, the wife and kid went with me. There is a LOT of space in the back and trunk. More trunk room than the Accord EX V6 we have. She was able to sit in the back with the kid and car seat and have a lot of room.

The base model was ok. The higher end models have more of what I “want” in a car.

I have a Acura CL and that set the base of what I want in a car UNTIL my wife got the Accord EX V6.

It’s fully loaded except for the sat radio. That car is now the base on what I want in a car as far as ammenities.

The 300 matched it BUT (I have to be “contrary” right? )

I like tight steering and the 300 didn’t have it, even in sport mode. The Accord doesn’t have it either but I thought the Accord was tighter steering.

The 300 sucks gas. I mean it just sucks gas. My co-worker’s only complaint about the car (300C) is the gas milage.

Interior “flash” wasn’t quite what I thought it should be.

But, overall, I think they nailed it. I won’t buy one, though. I still have my mindset of when I drove 32-40 miles a day, one way, to work.

Check out the Accord EX. Its a nice car but lacks sex appeal. The Avalon, to me, lacks that sex appeal as well, but it is a good car.

The Toyota Corolla is one car in the definite category for now. We currently have it on loan and MAN, the MPG is sweet (about 40 mpg). I’m making one more sweep of the dealerships this weekend to make my decision.

If I was to go with the 300C (which I will not), I would have to switch out the origninal grill for that mesh one.

For me, the drive did not match the look of the car.
