I found another VERY good article about Obama that shows why people our rallying behind him. I read it a while ago but recent found it again. It talks about what he ACTUALLY done while fighting for issue that everybody (including conservatives) care about. This is not about the typical big issues that get all the attention either. It's a lot of details about his actual ACTIONS. I would love to see something similar written about Hillary or McCain:

This article goes into detail about his ACTIONS on the following issues:

Nonproliferation, Avian flu, Regulating Genetic Testing, Reducing medical malpractice suits. And includes links to his actions on the other big issues you typically hear about. Please check it out if you really want to know why so many people (including conservatives) support Obama:

People on the liberal/progressive side of the aisle have been fighting the same battles for the same things forever... And what have we gotten? Nothing in recent times. Without the ability to inspire people to back you up and demand the things we want then we will continue to get nothing... So yes.. Inspiration does matter. MLK didn't have any power. He had inspiration.

If you REALLY want to know why and how Obama inspires people I have the perfect article. It is VERY VERY VERY good... It is long but it summarizes everything that has gotten Obama this far. And it was written in 1995. Before the IL state senate, before the DNC speech, before all the hype. So PLEASE check it out if really want to see what is behind all these feelings for Obama. If you are able to take anything negative out of it I would be very surprised:

With all due respect Duane who gives 2 sh**ts if he inspires people. THe questions should be:

1. What is his short term solution and long term plan in Iraqi and Afghanistan?

2. What is his plan to stimulate the economy?

3. How is going to help people saves there homes?

4. What is his plan for a failing education public system?

5. What are his plans to insure health care for the working poor?

6. How is going to rebuild America's reputation among world leaders?

For some reason these two questions sound very similar to me. Maybe I am reading one of them wrong.

He inspires me because he is EXTREMELY intelligent. He not only went to one of the best law schools in the country (Harvard), he actually was a leader among leaders while there. How is that for a change instead of someone who brags about being a C student. (This is the same reason I supported Wesley Clark btw..)

Also I agree with mostly all of his positions and as well as many of his actions that I have read about since he has been an elected official. I hope if I was in his position I would have done some of the same things. I also believe him when he is talking. His actions in the past line up with what he is saying now.

And contrary to what others have been saying, he does have substance. He has policy positions on almost every aspect to American life. And has given speeches on most of them. They are easily accessible if you want to see/read them.

Also he truly is building a coalition of the ALL the American people. And he is not bought and paid for by corporate lobbyists. He is paid for by the people.

Also he inspires me because he has gotten to this position despite of the typical black obstacles.... Born to single teenage mother, father skipped town, dabbling in drugs, etc... If he is elected many of the excuses a lot of black people use will become a lot less relevant.

I could go on...
