Your argument would have some currency if the city of Atlanta’s D.A.’s office was selectively and aggressively prosecuting non-Blacks (e.g.; ‘racial profiling’) with the tacit approval of the city’s predominantly Af-Am demographic.

The comparison does not appear to be valid to me. There ARE white mayors who haven’t gotten a handle on black on black crime either. No one is bringing up Jim Crow in those cases. The fact that these crimes are going unsolved falls partly on the Atlanta citizens for not “snitching” on people who they know are committing crimes.

The Jena case is so OBVIOUSLY wrong that it inflames people enough for them to want to do something. And better comparison to this is the Duke rape case. Whoever this DA is should come under the same scrutiny as the Duke DA got. And he needs to be brought up on charges. And if we don’t raise hell about it then who will. Obviously the media does not give a damn about it.

No one is bringing up Jim Crow in those cases.

And no one ever will as long as it is Black on Black crime. Under most circumstances, a 50% unsolved HOMICIDE rate (not just regular crime) is insane for one city. Once again I point back to my last question: “Whose in charge?”

Of course it is wrong. Who has the answer to this problem though?? We do. Black on black crime is not someone imposing anything on us. It is an internal problem that we are perpetuating within our own communities. We as a people have to wake up and solve that problem. Where as the Jena six thing is an example of something outside the community that is treating people unjustly. You can look at it like a person who has internal issues that he knows is bad for him and that he knows he has to deal with but he does not yet know how to deal with it. But if someone or something else is attacking that person from the outside and they know they can fight back against it, then that person will fight back.

Jena six is an easy problem to fix. Those kids should be let out of jail and that prosecutor and anyone else involved needs to be fired and investigated. It is a problem with their justice system in Jena. And if we can’t fix that then we really don’t have a chance in trying to solve the moral issue of black on black crime. Again. If we don’t stand up against this then who will? If it were any or our kids in this situation we would be calling Al, Jesse, and whoever else to get our children out of that crap.

Don’t worry about Duane, Wizz. The ‘Black-on-Black crime’ fallacy is his way of saying Blacks don’t deserve full American citizenship.

Those kids should be let out of jail

I agree with everything you said except for this line.

The other part of this story is that these kids did beat up on this White kid or kids. Nooses are one thing, but beating up a kid REGARDLESS deserves the appropriate judgment based on the crime (and I do agree that the sentence that was first issued was way over the top). I would not expect any less if the races in this case were reversed.

I agree. The problem with that though is this. The white student got beat up because he was teasing one of the black students for getting beat up a few days before by a group of white kids at an off-campus party. What did the white kids get charged with?? Simple battery and got probation not a single day of jail time. Then the very next day after that a white man pulled a shotgun on a group of black kids. They took it away from him and THEY are the ones who were charged while the white man who pulled the gun got no charges.

These black kids were charged with attempted MURDER. Even though the guy who got beat up was okay enough to go to a party the same night he got beat up. This is why I say they should be let out of jail. These young boys situation is so screwed up on so many levels.
