ZZ59C4D030 Now it really beginsComing off of a huge win in the state of South Carolina, Barack Obama has proven answered the question wether or not if the Black community will get behind his quest for the White House. Now the fun really begins. As I have been repeating on this website numerous of times, he along with his supporters are going to have to move away from using the ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington’ narrative and actually convince the rest of America that despite the little difference between him, Clinton and Edwards, he is the man that America can count on to lead us into the next chapter for this country.

Another thing I have been repeating on this site is that mainstream media, his campaign and his supporters are going to have to tone down all the hype about him being the first Black president and all of its historical implications and begin to differentiate himself from his Democratic rivals on policy issues (notice I included the media as they have been a very active part of his campaign). Personally, I think it is going to be harder to convince MSM to treat him like an actual candidate than his supporters simply because portraying him as the affirmative action candidate is far more profitable for them than giving him the same treatment as your typical White candidate. So while it may not be about race for Obama, that is certainly not the case for those who are profiting off of over-dramatizing the race factor.

According to all the latest polls as presented on the website RealClearPolitics.com, Clinton is still holding a double-digit lead in most of the states that will be participating on Super Tuesday. All of this could change of course, but as we saw in South Carolina, the Black vote will not be as much of a factor this time around. Another thing worth mentioning is that while Obama may be leading in awarded delegates, he is trailing Clinton substantially when you factor in superdelegates (please note: Although superdelegate votes do not actually count until the convention, these are delegates that have already pledged to vote for a particular candidate).

Stay tuned! It is about to get real interesting.
