Raleigh, N.C. – The Triangle Grapevine is poised to deliver the African-American business and professional community, says Leslie J. Ansley, Grapevine’s editor and publisher. The newsletter will be distributed on the first and third Thursdays of each month to leased newsstand spaces at targeted, high-traffic retail and supermarket venues throughout the Triangle.

“The Triangle Grapevine is designed to be the single, uniting source of business information and events for the tens of thousands of African Americans in this region,” says Ansley, whose professional background includes 20 years’ experience in news and magazine management. “Our focus is on business – especially small businesses and entrepreneurs – but our signature feature will be the listings.”

The “listings” Ansley refers to are the nearly 20 different categories of events that will fill several pages of each issue. Individuals and organizations can list their events free of charge via email, fax, voice mail or online form at www.trianglegrapevine.com. Some of Grapevine’s categories: museums; clubs; community; fraternities; sororities; films; at the colleges; at the galleries; and youth and teens.

There are three regular Grapevine columnists, and space for a guest columnist each issue. Other recurring articles include “Just Curious,” a feature with photos of local readers and their responses to a specific question; “Have You Heard,” a section of news and notes; “Two Weeks’ Notice,” which highlights must-see or must-do events in the coming two weeks; as well as travel and technology features.

However, Grapevine is more than just a newsletter, Ansley says. “Our goal is to build a stronger sense of community and cultivate long-term business and social relationships. Toward that end, we’re also launching monthly discussion groups, business workshops, networking events and a literacy campaign during the holiday season.”

The advertising deadline for the premier issue of Triangle Grapevine is Thursday, August 4. For more information, call 919-231-1966.
