on February 14th, 2005 at 2:05 am“Who are these men and women who want to take away our liberties -control our lives  tell us who we can associate with  reprimanding us for attempting to live out the true American dream? They are not the inheritors of Dr. King’s throne. These individuals are mean, hateful and disingenuous. They despise real progress. They are race bullies who want us to remain focused on the past while their children attend the best universities. They live in million dollar homes and drive fancy cars. They dishonor the African American legacy and the entire civil rights movement. ”
“If the civil rights movement was about anything, it was about freedom  the freedom of men and women of all races, cultures and creeds to think and live and, yes, vote as they choose. Are all African-American suppose to walk in step on the same beat? If one African-American doesn’t see the world as another, is he or she any less a human being or any less black? Are all African-Americans suppose to have the same goals, needs and objectives  the same friends and enemies? This is not freedom; this is slavery  only in a different form.” (more…)
