There is no such thing as black gosepl. What we don’t know is the form of religion we have accepted is not our true religion. Thats like saying historically black greek orgs. Thats crazy because we are not GREEK. We have accepted being converted into philosophies that were stolen from us Ideally and copied in a white washed form. BLACK FOLK LETS WAKE UP AND TAKE CONTROL. Of ourselves that is. The realest part of the BET telethon was when MS. Badu started educating us to the real reason this terrible tragedy occurred. Which is because we have become so engrossed in religion and stepped so far away from knowing God. Even knowing God enough to understand that any hurricane is going to be a danger to humans no matter how small , so we go on believing never knowing and end up unprepared and displaced all because of our ignorance to who we are and the connecton we have w/ God that has nothing to do with religion. That I feel is the main reason so many are suffering whether they had a place to go or not most were already in a dependant religous type mind frame which exposed them to the worst of this tragedy. UNTIL WE GET OUR MINDS RIGHT …

I agree with most of what Brian has said except, being far from God isn’t a black thing…

humanity as a whole is far from God.

In the end our distance from God is an individual thing and a choice each person makes.

There is but one God and one humanity.

I know that there is not a such thing, but guess what?

In the music industry, it IS a difference. Check out your local music store.

One of the stations I am an RF engineer for (which I will now plug KLDC 800 am in Denver, Colorado) is a Black Gospel format, one of our bigger and most successful stations is a Black Gospel station in Chicago.

I know Black Gospel exists as a product (for lack of a better term) and a style, but in the strictist sense there is but one gospel.

The Gospel, the Good News is for all persons of course (I know we agree on that) and no one ‘category’ of people has the market cornered on being far from God.

Plus to add on to what I said a day ago. THE ONE THING THAT WE OWE TO OUR FAMILY IN THE AFFECTED AREAS THE MOST IS OUR OWN PREPARATION. I read a sign that said let the dead teach the living. It rings truer than ever now with the reality we now face because of our own actions.
