"were low-income and minority communities already facing decades of environmental injustices;”"

John L: "low-income and minority: means the same thing when people say "low-income and minority "regarding the achivement gap: poor whites and poor Blacks." So where is it misleading, Duane?!

It’s not the CBC’s job to ferret out corruption.

Oooookay, so then its their job to fund it?

By the way, I’ve noticed that although I’ve featured your blog in the Black Bloggers Assn for over a year, you don’t include the BBA in your blog. (for other readers, this is not the first time this commentor has left this kind of comment on this site)

Ahhh, this is the reason for all the hatin' on your part. I kinda figured as much, but I wanted you to say it first.

#1. As far as your baseless accusation goes, please check out this link. (Dated March 10th 2005).

#2. Look under Mo' Blogs. Your link has been there for MONTHS (At least since March of this year)!

If you wish to comment on any posting on this site, I kindly ask that you would stay on the issue being discussed. I have an e-mail address if you wish to communicate anything beyond that.

I'm not sure what your point is here. It's not the CBC's job to ferret out corruption. Now if you want to the CBC to not fund pre-schoolers and school children because some of the people in charge of their schools are crooks, that's anothe thing.

By the way, I've noticed that although I've featured your blog in the Black Bloggers Assn for over a year, you don't include the BBA in your blog.

You even have a Miami Cuban-American blog, Afro-Mexican, and Kenyan listing, but no BBA.

Might we know why?

Legislation such as this one is what keeps many of the member of the CBC in office. National calamities or misfortune create the high vilsibility "victims" that these politicians need to do some soap-box grandstanding.

Anyone with a brain would know that Louisiana has one of the highest poverty rates in the country as a state. It just so happens that most of the poor in the urban New Orleans are Black, which is the case of most cities. Nothing is said of the poor whites, but I guess they should go out and get a few self-appointed gate-keepers too.

But the CBC longed signed on to the vote buying schemes that are social programs. I have always said the elderly, the handicapped, and children should be the only one receiveing any aid, outside of unemployment benefits. Look at Democratic controlled infratructures like city education, public works systems, city contracts, etc. You will find in all almost all cases, those that are entrusted with the mean and power to oversee the services that are for the poor "Blacks", are often the ones guilty of malfeasance or incompetence.
