ELEANOR HALL for abc.net.au: It’s an unlikely collaboration, but tomorrow night’s performance between one of Australia’s most popular hip hop artists and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra is being widely anticipated by the music industry.
It’s not a new phenomenon – many rock and pop artists have been teaming up with some of the nation’s premier orchestras in recent years.
But the collaboration between the Hilltop Hoods and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra is being tipped as a watershed moment for hip hop which is still struggling to get a definitive foothold in the Australian music scene.
