The one thing I always try to always remember as the author of this site is that not everybody is like me. Let me give you one example. A while ago I had decided on a template on this site that used a dark brown background with white text. Personally I liked the look, but the feedback from numbers of my readers said otherwise. Right now, I am trying to find a plug-in that will increase text size per the request of one of my readers.
As a favor for my readers who are not familiar with feed readers or news aggregators, I have created such a page that contains a wide range of news/multimedia sources. Here is how I broke it down:
Column 1 (General news)
Micro TV – Live television feeds from both here in the US and internationally
African-American Google search – A customized feed that brings up all news containing the words ‘African-American’
General Google news – US/World/Sci/Tech/Sports
etc…
Column 2 (Politics)
Real Clear Politics
The Politico
NPR
etc…..
Column 3 (Africa/Caribbean News)
Various sources
Column 4 (Black media)
Blackenterprise.com
Ebony/Jet
EURweb.com
African-American YouTube search
etc….
Think of this page as a template that you can customize to your own liking. These are just a few links I put together to help you get started. I thought about doing a page that featured various bloggers, but I think it would be best to leave that up to the individual as inevitably someone would be left out if I did it. In the future, I would like to create another template that centers around cultural issues. We’ll see.
The link to this page is to your left under ‘BlackInformant.com Expanded’. Click on the Netvibes link.
Enjoy!
