The Black community, for some reason, as to find white Republican counterparts to base their arguments. Pat Robertson maybe a whack job Republican, but as to date, he has not killed anybody, nor created a gang that killed other people and destroyed an entire community. He is a political commentator who filters his commentary through the Bible. The only difference between he and Jesse is the fact he is white and comes from the right.

Tookie Williams, and others of his ilk, contribute to the degradation of the community that we attribute to racism. All Blacks in this country came from poverty somewhere along the way of the past 400+ years, and all have had to deal with racism. Murder, meyham, and terror from other Blacks has only recently gotten a pass over the past 30+ years. If you systematically kill and foster the propensity to do so through gang activity, you deserve to fry. Tookie Williams started a plague that has ravaged the Black community, like no other plague, not even slavery and Jim Crow could. He should meet the fate that has been designated by his actions. Period!!

The key word in my question is RECENTLY

What she means by “pardoned orginally,” is that an all-white jury would have acquitted the klansman of the murder…and then when he is about to die…a federal agency would come along and attempt to prosecute him.

How many whites have been charged with murder, only to be let go by a sympatheic all-white jury?!

That’s one of the reasons why white people should never, ever open their mouths about the OJ trial.

Hundreds and hundreds of cases, and the guilty party walked free.

Pat Robertson does not represent all Conservatives any more than Ted Kennedy represents the viewpoints of all Liberals. In the post I acknowledged the fact that it is a mixed bag of folks that do agree with the point that Williams should meet his maker (or whoever) on 12/13. The reason why I am calling out Liberals (in particularly white Liberals) on this one is because of the simple fact that have made it clear over and over again their stance on this issue. I do not see a variety of opinions coming from that particular group And its their stance on this particular issue that is doing more harm than good when it comes to our young boys who put themselves at risk to follow in William’s footsteps. Why? Because the undertone of William’s message is “I was wrong, but use ANY means to get out of paying for that wrong–even if it means writing some children’s books.” Trust me, like I said regarding your example, I am the same way when it comes to Conservatives when they shovel crap from that same pile (Remember Terri Schiavo? Although I agreed like other Conservatives that she should live, I didn’t like how many Conservatives turned it into a partisanship show. That aggression was much needed elsewhere and they dropped the ball–and yes I called them on it. Same goes for Tom Delay). Someone may become a straight up Christian, but if they have been found guilty of murder, then they are at the mercy of the court. Activism needs to stay out of it.

The inconsistancy of outrage really bothers me.

The silliness of making it “liberal” vs. “conservative” is really pathetic, IMO.
