cchandra johnson Going Overboard

SOUTH BEND — The world changed dramatically for Chandra Johnson on Nov. 30, and she felt the need to symbolize that change in a bold way.

She shaved her head last Saturday as a response to the news that Tyrone Willingham had been fired as head football coach at the University of Notre Dame.

…Seeing her shaved head in the mirror each day, Johnson said, is a reminder to herself to stand up for truth and of her responsibility to help young people recognize the results of injustice.

…Johnson doesn’t believe Willingham was fired because he was black. But she believes the decision makers didn’t consider the impact of firing Notre Dame’s first black football coach three years into his six-year contract. (more…)

Many African-Americans became up in arms about the recent firing of Tyrone Willingham, former coach of the legendary Notre Dame football program. As predicted, the cries of racism quickly followed. Even though Chandra Johnson, the woman pictured above says that he was not fired because he was black, she still makes the claim that the system was flawed. In other words, more injustice to a black man.

If you are a fan of college sports (like I am), you will know that firings have always come quick to those who do not produce. I hate to put it that bluntly, but that is the nature of that business. The only color that was a factor in this decision was GREEN.

Colleges heavily rely on sports teams to have a winning record in order to convince potential students to come to their school. If you know anything about college football, you will know that Notre Dame was not just an ordinary school. This is a school that has enjoyed a long tradition of a winning season long way before Coach Willingham. In fact, there were other coaches before Willingham that were fired for not bringing the school back on “track” as well (One was fired for lying on his resume) who were “white”. Somehow that point get lost in the cries of “injustice”.

It is stories like this that really tick me off because these same negros who are willing to do literally anything to make their case against of so-called injustice against Willingham (a great college football coach)are the same negros a few weeks ago who would not even lift a finger against all of the racist remarks from white liberals directed towards Condi Rice (Secretary of State). How many people were willing to shave their heads for that? Some may say “Well, you are talking about two different people in two different fields.”

I thought racism was RACISM?

I was not looking to rant about anything today, but this article really got me going this morning.
