With all the unemployment, foreclosures and crime rate in the low income communities you would think the mega churches would build facilities to train our young people trades to equip them with a trade to start their own business .Then maybe when they build these mega churches in our communities using our tihes/offerings, these young people can be hired by the contractors who are given these large contracts. Ofcourse after going out on these job sites i did not see anyone who looked like a tither or giver of the church they was working on. You know who they were, not any i saw were black, and i did visit several sites over a period of 5yrs. Not (1)!!!. Sounds to me the old "OKIDOKE" IS STILL IN TACK.

How ironic that I come across this... I am writing an essay on how much money every year is wasted on creature comforts in the church, while they preach about helping Africa, or the needy in Mexico. It scares me how blind people can be..

I deal with pastors from churches on a regular basis. It seems to be a good idea to keep tabs on the televangelists, but if people are concerned about where their church is spending their money, they should get more involved and find out for themselves.

It's sad but true. Although the Trinity Foundation looks at televangelists, I believe it's the tip of the iceberg. The real sensational numbers would be found in our local churches and mega-churches.

There is local mega-church in the D.C. area that was praised for paying off a $36 million mortgage in two years! I cannot find anything they do in the community.
