classical Festival showcases African American classical musicians

People attending the 2005 Gateways Music Festival will see and hear things that are almost never encountered at a typical classical concert.

Gateways, of course, is a biennial music fest that promotes the careers of African-American classical musicians, and the orchestra that’s scheduled to perform twice today at Kilbourn Hall will consist entirely of African-American players, about 50 artists in all. (more…)
