I'm 23 years old and I love all black music, old and new. However, I can’t dismiss the fact that my generation is hip-hop no matter what color my skin is. My point is that Hip-Hop is me, and like a child of old school black music it has grown into its own. So I can't except the notion that hip-hop has ruined black musical legacy just because a musical legend says so. Hip hop gave US a voice from its inception. I think that some if it sucks now, but some of everything sucks. It will be what we left behind. We shouldn’t diss it.

I wonder if Sir Elton was saying all of this when Mary J. jacked his Benny and the Jets beat for her song deep inside. Then again wasn't Sir Elton was playing the piano in the video.

Great post and great blog site
