sob Drivin down south

As a child growing up in the northeast, I remember our annual drives to South Carolina on I-95. Driving through Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and D.C. was fine. BUT LAWD HAVE MERCY, once we got past Richmond—nuttin’ but sticks. I would always draw encouragement and strength from the South of the Border roadsigns starting in North Carolina. I knew that it wouldn’t be long before I was sinking my teeth into grandma’s butta pound cake and some sweet tea.

This link will take you to a page that pictures of all of those South of the Border road signs (just in case you want to go down memory lane).

What do you remember?
