From Wikipedia:

“The federal grand jury indictment outlines not only dog fighting competitions with other illegal operations from several states, but tens of thousands of dollars in gambling activity. In a number of instances, Vick personally is alleged to have handled the cash settlement, with purses as high as $26,000 for single match. The operation also included “destroying or otherwise disposing of dogs not selected to stay with the ongoing animal fighting venture.” Specifics of the extensive violence against dogs which did not perform well were cited, including executions by electrocution, hanging, drowning, shooting, and other brutality, and allegations of Vick’s direct participation in executing “8 dogs in or about April 2007″ at his Virginia property. At least one dog was killed by being “slammed to the ground.” Federal authorities have possession of over 50 pit bulls recovered alive at the Vick compound, as well as buried dog carcasses. According to media reports, at least one noted forensic veterinarian is working on the USDA-led federal investigation.” (source)

How could any human do such a thing to such innocent creatures?

baby aborted Despite the stupidity, Vicks alledged actions are not causing me to weepEach day in America, children (especially Black children) aborted. I am not going to argue over statistics here because not only do they tend to be inconsistent, but oftentimes it waters down the fact that future leaders, doctors, lawyers, mothers, bankers, friends, husbands, wives, geniuses–all the positions we beg the government to provide are being eliminated under the guise of “choice”.

blkchildsad Despite the stupidity, Vicks alledged actions are not causing me to weepThe foster care system in America is filled with little Black boys and girls who, according to statistics will grow up with a figurative umbilical cord that is connected to government care: Welfare or prison. Who knows? The answer to that ailment you may develop years from now may lie in the minds of one of these neglected children. Better yet, a whole generation of Black boys could avoid prison with just a little attention from us.

So while I am always saddened to hear about the mistreatment of animals and will do anything in my power to stop it if I know about it, living in a era where our seed is being neglected or eliminated is a pain to hard to bear when I think about it.
