Like many of you, I’ve been hit with political ads via e-mail like you would not believe. The worst e-mail by far comes from “One United Michigan”, a pro-affirmative action group for that state. Here is an excerpt:

Proposal 2 threatens diversity and safety in law enforcement
Law enforcement leaders, including the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police and the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan, are urging a No vote on Proposal 2, saying it will limit diversity in law enforcement and make communities less safe.
“Thirty years ago there were few women in law enforcement. We have made progress, but there is still much work to do,†said Kay Hoffman, Lansing Township chief of police and president of the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police. “Until women had a say, domestic violence was ignored by our society. Having women in police departments ensures law enforcement serves women as well as men.â€Â
I’m not posting any more of this letter as you should by now have gotten the tone.
Clearly these folks no NOTHING about cities such as Los Angeles, Atlanta, Philadelphia, etc. where there is a significant minority presence on their police force. Yet these departments have been riddled with corruption and accusations that they are not doing enough for the community. Mind you, many of these departments are headed by “minorities”.
