Now you've gone and done it. Lots of people back home in the States are going to be looking at this series of posts on the history of blacks in Germany (& Europe) and making me all nervous and stuff. Plus I'll have to watch my grammar in case Ms. Smith (my 4th grade teacher) is still alive and online tracking down her students overseas...:-) Ms. Smith taught us everything we needed to know about the history and literature and culture of Europe. She was a loving and very intelligent African-American elementary school teacher at a historical predominately black public school near St. Louis, MO.
