As expected, Black news media dramatizes the Armstrong Williams story
on January 14th, 2005 at 8:01 amAs I mentioned a few postings ago, what Armstrong Williams did was dead wrong. Using taxpayer money to push a political agenda is never right or justified. On the other hand, to dramatize a non-isolated incident to the levels of government conspiracy I think is blowing this way out of proportion. But first, check out how other media outlets reported this issue:
Pressure increases on Williams payment Washington Times
Columnists’ Group Agrees: Armstrong Williams Not a Journalist Editor & Publisher, NY
FCC Investigating Armstrong Williams Incident Broadcasting & Cable
Education Chief Defends Payments to Pundit Washington Post, DC
Now, let’s take a look at Black Press USA’s title of their report on the issue:
Williams’ ‘Payola’ Was Part of a Covert Propaganda Campaign
Although there is some truth to this statement, they know full well that their choice of words continues to feed the flames of conspiracy theories and never-ending mistrust of an administration that they want us to feel is hell-bent to destroy the black community.
Just a little something that I have noticed.
