Washington, DC (BlackNews.com) – Just Like Me, Inc. is starting a FREE monthly e-newsletter that will feature inspiring news about African Americans in business, African Americans in the community, and astonishing Black history facts in a short concise format. After talking to African American adults and children from around the country, Yaba Baker, the President of Just Like Me, Inc., recognized a disturbing trend. He noticed the trend after traveling to many elementary schools. Mr. Baker was saddened that 99% of the African American children in these schools had no idea their ancestors (Ancient African scientists and African American inventors) were responsible for many of the scientific discoveries in use today. As Mr. Baker traveled around the country on book tours and doing various events, he learned that many African American adults were unaware of the tremendous success Black businesses were having in this country. Most African Americans didn’t know at least 60 African American owned companies that have surpassed $100 million dollars in sales, and two had surpassed $1 billion dollars in sales in 2004. (more…)
