White racism has long been our enemy and I think its to the point where we think that is the only kind of racism. But is it ?

Its all senseless however what are we teaching our kids and could this be the result of years being told the white man did this or that to you. Also I know after reading about the lynchings, the beatings with whips,the slavery story, etc I have been angered to a point of wanting to harm those folks but I try my best to exercise self control in knowing who I am and what I represent. Sure I could say go get ‘em again but that never rectifies the situation. Non violence is not just a stance but a key to the survival of the human race.

The second guy was just an a-hole; colorless – just stupid.

The first group knows that whitey gots mo’ ya-yo than a Black man.

Money, not slavery was their motivation. I’m willing to allow any former slave the opportunity of smacking any cracker with an accent in the mouth – but the same privledge shouldn’t be given to some dumb gansta who never heard of MLK.

well if we truly understand christ we will not see color. i am anglo-saxon or aryan but with christ i am human. i love everyone and yes that includes my black brothers and sisters. please the next time you look at someone white just think they may save your life, may love and care about you, and did not choose to be white. i too can’t stand southerns who are ignorant. i too think we should build better housing, communities to give people, our children, hope. i try not to let the flesh cause me to sin.

The problem here is that people don’t know the definition of racism, as I just pointed out to one of the hosts of a local talk radio program on Monday.

A racist is someone who “believes that there are 1) both superior and inferior groups of humans, and that 2) physical chacteristics, such as skin color, eye shape, and hair texture, are indicators of innate capacities, such as intelligence, emotional states, and temperament.”

When a person uses the preceding definition to treat someone differently, then an act of racism is the result.

Did thoe boys beat the whites because they thought they were inferior/superior to them?! Nope.

They beat them because of their perceived support of a racist society.

Of course, not all whites are racist, but the overwhelming majority of them are. Hence, these random beatings are going to some time involve people that are among the small percentage of whites that are not racist, and may indeed be an anti-racism activist.

If there is not an “overwhelming majority that is racist, how do you explain the percentage of racial disparities in health care/access, profiling by cops, discrimination in banking/mortgage lending, in arrests/convictions, placement of Latinos/Blacks in special education classes, suspension/expulsions of Blacks and Latino students, environmental racism, employment discrimination, housing dicrimination, and on and on.

It takes an astronomical amount of people to carry out this much oppression in every city, town, or state across this country.

And Duane is highlighting this beating?!

John appears to be the one who is conditioned. By inference he is suggesting that these “boys” beat people because of perceived racism.

I am appalled to see a precnception that “an overwhelming majority” or white people are racist. I’m white…I’m also jewish. I think that everyone here has a pretty good idea of what has happened to the jews since THE BEGGINING OF CIVILIZATION!!! This racism against my “race” has been at the hands of whites, blacks, arabs, and even asians. Moving to modern times, racism is running amock in every racial category. Whites are descriminated against; blacks are descriminated against; arabs are hugely descriminated against in our time; latin americans are told to go back to where they came from; asians are often considered a lower class of human. Any one of the racial classes mentioned has the capability of descriminating against another. It’s not just white against the world. Don’t buy that whites aren’t descriminated against? Just take a look at affirmative action. I may not get a job that I am extremely qualified for, simply because the color of my skin. Someone has to make a quota. Someone else, possibly less qualified than I, will get that job, because he, or she, ISN’T white. If that’s not racism, I don’t know what it. So, you see, it has much less to do with superiority that biggots of ANY race would like to tell everyone.

Someone above mentioned that they try to control their anger against white people because of what they have done in the past. I do not think we as black people are constantly thinking about slavery in the past. It’s about what is happening right now, everyday and all around us. I think the black people who are apoligizing for being angry should stop because it is only human to get angry at what is happening in the present time. You get tired of being unfairly treated just because a race wants to carry on their demonic racial actions from their ancestors.

What white people have done in the past, a lot of it is still happening. We as black people in unity just need to start agreeing and be real.

Jacob, You tied a neat bow around it. EVERYONE is discriminated against…and I assume you are including Palestineans.

Carla – even with a radio show – still feels enslaved.

JL: I wish you were just as appalled to do something about the seeding of white minds by Hollywood as well as the use of “race” as research variable.

“Race” as research variable has resulted in such studies as “race and IQ; race and criminality, race and investing in the stock market (as a local CBS affiliate reported last fall); and on and on.

While college students’ minds are saturated with the “race and whatever the other variable might be research studies,” those not attending college, along with everyone else, are conditioned by TV, etc., to hold racist beliefs about Peo;e of Color, particularly Blacks.

If you think you’re not racist, go to Google.com and place “Implicit Assumption Test” into the Search Engine…and go take one of their tests, and come back and give us a report.

Really? Your views are not included anywhere in your message? John L. – you need to get a grip on reality and stop playing the race/victim card. Yes, everyone, even whites these days, face discrimination. But it’s not everyone against the black man. You need to remove your tunnel vision. Open your eyes and see that there’s more to life than hating the White man and blaming him for all your troubles.

What if during the last election 90% of the white people had voted for McCain ? First, McCain would have been elected and second black people whould have complained that white people are racist. But white people did not do that, they voted according to their political view.

On the other side, 90% of the black people voted for Obama. It looks like racism to me and no one is talking about it. We voted for a black man and not for ideas. At the same time, this black man promised to give us everything for nothing, something that the victimized black population loves.

Victimization and is a good excuse for doing nothing. If in the black population we did not have that we would have to explain and give real excuses for our failures.
