As a teacher who has worked in a school district where these types of reports are both swept under the rug and the teacher "punished" I must say it is not the unions, it is the schools and district. No school wants to be accountable for the numbers, including expulsions (which clearly a sexual encounter of a 12 y/o with a 6 y/o qualifies), so the school and district just HOPE it goes away. How could any human being see a child being hurt and not, at the very least, tell the parents. It is an outrage. Not only should this child predetor be charged but the teachers and adminsitrators should be charged with accessoryafter the fact. I can not imagen my son being violated and the adults, whose care I left him in, not telling me something this life altering. These people have true lack of morality and common decency.
