This is a very, VERY rough example of how you can use the video from your cellphone to put together a quick demonstration. The reason why the video quality is a little bit crappy is because I am shooting in just plain low house light. While most smartphones have HD video, most of them tend to underperform in low light situations. The Apple store for example has a lot of bright light, so recording a video there is going to look fine.
As I mentioned in the video, I wanted to only use my Android-based phone to do my editing, but I was unable to find an app to do so. So I opted just to use iMovie on my Mac. Notice the subtitles and background music? All of that was done within minutes using iMovie. Imagine the things you could put together with these simple tools?
The iPhone on the other hand does has a few video editing apps. Check out this link.
This is a MUCH better example of the type of video you can create using the iPhone and iMovie.
Apple of My Eye – IPHONE 4 FILM from Michael Koerbel on Vimeo.
This was something THEY put together on their own. As far as I know, ABC,CBS, NBC, CNN, etc. were not knocking down their door to put this great film together. This was something they did on their own. Now imagine doing a short documentary on your interest of choice? If you do it well enough, you can easy build up your following into the thousands. Stop letting the Antoine Dodsons of the world take center stage (and check this out, that video wasn’t even produce by us). The solution to great video content is right in your pocket. Use it.
