This morning I posted the following response to a question on Facebook. The question had to do with people who are still blaming Bobby Brown for Whitney Houston’s downfall.

Blackvoices.com contributor Javon Johnson wrote a great article recently on something he calls “The Cult of Blackness”. In this piece, Javon completely nails what I was merely trying to communicate last week. Here is an excerpt.

While doing some social media work for a client last night, I could not help but notices that the BET Awards was trending near the top worldwide at one point. While much of the world had moved on after the awards show, HotLanta was still talking about it well after midnight.
For the past week now I have been totally immersed in web-based television. With cable boxes finally gone, I am VERY pleased with the amount of good choices that we now have in our household.
