I was in a very creative mood at the time I wrote this.
Meet Derrick. A very sharp kid who was always dreaming about doing something big with his life. Although he could not explain it, he knew that he really wanted to be a doctor some day. He liked the fact that every time he accompanied his mother to the doctor’s office, the doctor always had a way of making his mommy feel better. Although he never understood why his mom always seemed so sad, he could not wait to go with her back to the doctor’s office so that she would feel better again. Once they left the doctor’s office, the two of them would always grab a sandwich at his mommy’s favorite sandwich shop on the way home. She would always share her food with him which made the trip always fun. Although his mommy was always concerned about her weight, Derrick seemed to always convince his mom to get those yummy potato chips with their sandwich.
One day, his mommy was having yet another one of her sad days. So the two of them hopped in the car to make their way back to the doctor’s office. Derrick loved how his mommy would buckle the seat-belt just right for him. Once he heard that “click”, he knew that we was going to be safe. As they were driving, Derrick would just sit back and listen to the sound of the car as it moved on the road. As he closed his eyes, he imagined being on a huge boat carrying him away to some foreign land. Since his mommy’s favorite color was “red” (every time he saw his mommy, she was wearing something red), he would imagine his dream ship being the color “red”.
Finally, they reached the doctor’s office. As much as he loved visiting the doctor and seeing his mommy getting over her sadness, there was something different today that gave him a weird feeling in the pit of his stomach. Unlike all the other days where mommy just sat in the nice comfy chair, today the doctor had her lie down. Derrick could tell that mommy was becoming more afraid, but at the same time, he also felt himself getting very sleepy. “Hopefully, mommy will feel better when I wake up”, he thought to himself.
You see, Derrick was aborted.
After waking up from his deep sleep, as far as his little eyes could see there were children just like him laughing, running and playing. Although he tried so hard to play along with them, it felt as if his little heart couldn’t keep up with all the excitement. So he sat down in the shade to catch his breath. While sitting there, Jesus came by and asked him why he was not having fun with the rest of the children. Derrick just pointed to his heart and began to cry. Jesus then wiped the tears from his eyes and placed his strong hands on Derrick’s chest. As Jesus pulled his hands back to himself, what looked like a small doctor’s bag appeared in his hands. On the side of the bag was written the following:
The cure for cancer.
Jesus then took the bag and placed it on a huge shelf that was filled with all types of inventions and discoveries reserved for the people of earth. He then just turned back to Derrick and said to him “Now go and have some fun”!
