So I read again this morning that there was yet another “flash rob”. This time, it took place in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina.
Downtown Greensboro “Flash Mob Beatings” Investigated By Police
Here is what I do understand–
we spend millions of dollars for programs to get computers to kids who don’t have them. Why? Because we don’t want them to be left behind in the digital economy. My position has always called that “hogwash” because I have seen too many kids who know how to get what they want. Secondly, with each “flash rob” these kids demonstrate the ability to be punctual, focused and organized. Again, something that many adults feel kids lack these days.
It is time we expect more from our kids and stop faulting the system for not “doing enough”.
If kids can put together a flash mob, they can get to school on time, study and get good grades without extensive after school programs. Demand more from our kids and they will produce.
