to become a mentor.
The Black Star Project is looking for 100 good Black and Latino men to mentor Black and Latino children. This can be done in only two hours a year in our school-based mentoring program.
Black men must mentor Black boys. No other way has worked or will work. Many Black men say that they, themselves, have too many problems and competing issues to mentor Black boys.
Unless Black men mentor Black boys, Many, if not most, Black boys will continue to struggle and fail in this life.
During the month of February, 2010 (Black History Month), these Chicago schools are asking for Black men to mentoring mostly Black children: Elementary Schools – Harold Washington, Brunson, Bradwell Community Academy, Yale. Morrill, Fuller, Parkside Community Academy, Evangelical Christian, Woods, Price, Fermi, Songhai, Nash, Tanner, Montefiore and Carson. High Schools – Robeson, Phillips, Charles Houston, Simeon.
We have the schools. We have the children. We have the dates. Now all we need is you!
Please call Ivory at 773.285.9600 to become part of the 100 mentoring men who will change the lives of children and the future of America.
