I heard about this story early this morning, but just now had the opportunity to find out the details.
I’m sorta laughing about this because I initially thought that the coach of the losing team was the one that got canned.
I am trying to find an article out there that is giving his side of the story, but so far it seems that practically everyone is slamming the brutha.
If you saw the short AP clip, the coach was quoted as saying that his team lost 82-6 four years ago. Oh, the outrage! The horror!!
America is slowly becoming a nation of wimps who feel that everyone is supposed to walk off the field with a “you are a winner” button.
I seriously doubt that folks were not coddling this team back in the day.
The 1916 Cumberland vs. Georgia Tech football game was a college football game played on October 7, 1916 between the Georgia Tech Engineers and the Cumberland College Bulldogs. The game became the most lopsided game in the history of college football, as Georgia Tech was victorious 222–0. (more…)
UPDATE: From the coach himself
In our own words: The Journey to a 100-0 victory
