I wanted to spell out her whole name so she could easily find this post. You can read her entire article here. In the meantime, this was the part that set me off.

—>”For many of us who are educated African-Americans of a new generation, we get it. We live it. We know what it feels like to be the first in our firms, corporations, universities, or industries. We know coded race talk when we see it.<—

What I find especially interesting is that these same smug American Negroes who claim to have the ability to decipher coded race talk from Whites will spend decades debating why are there no eligible Black men for marriage, the high Black on Black crime rate, and the all important “weave versus natural” debate. But yet, they have the keen ability to decipher every burp, fart, glare, hiccup coming from a White person. So the real question here is why do they know so much about White folks but make a living “figuring out” what’s wrong with their own people?

The drama continues…

—>“We tweeted and Facebooked, texted and emailed in total shock and awe. I think it took a good five minutes for my younger brother, a minister, and my mom to calm me down on the phone as I was yelling at the top of my lungs about how appalled I was that the president of the United States was being treated in such a shameful manner. I truly felt off center — like I had personally been kicked. Once we stopped and prayed, I was able to put pen to paper and begin to write down my thoughts.”<—

In all of her flailing, Nelson does more harm than good to Obama. How so? Some time ago, I wrote a piece for the Atlanta Post called “The Pact With Obama: High Unapproval Ratings Not Aided by Blacks” . The whole article was a plea to the Obama fan base to simply allow he (Obama) be who they he is. Hold him to the exact same standards he set for himself.  If he is better than Bush, then allow him to be better. Like Bush, like Clinton, and ALL other Presidents, they all had critics. Stop turning every criticism of Obama to some new, invented form of racism. Allow him to man up and deal with it. If he is the strong leader you day he is, he will rise above it with no problem.

All past presidents have been asked to submit this information. Former presidential candidate Sen. John McCain was challenged back in ’08 over the “natural born citizen” clause. The case was even taken to court. Yes, Obama did submit a certificate stating that he was born in Hawaii. But true political junkies know that in politics, EVERYTHING can be questioned. Hilary Clinton (the person who jump started the who “birther” movement) knew this. Political junkies also fueled the speculation that 9-11 was an inside job and that Bush lied us into war.  According to one poll, more than half of Democrats believed that Bush knew of the attack beforehand.

Now the latest gauntlet thrown out there by Trump was for Obama to release his school records. Nelson and the rest of the Obama fan base are having yet another cow.

Here is what I don’t understand: Birth certificates and grades are simple bits of information that most past presidents have made public before entering the White House. Bush made his public before entering the White House. Why drag this thing out? Obama graduated Magna Cum Laude. Why keep that info under lock and key–ESPECIALLY when other past presidents have made this info readily available to the public from day one? What’s the big deal? Release the info and shut down the critics on this issue.

When Obama was running for president, he told the American people that he promised greater transparency if elected. Critics on both the left and right agree that most of that has not happened. Big deal. Most politicians do not. Where “we, the people” screw up is when we do not hold them accountable.

What Nelson is doing is something I warned would happen if Obama was elected: The childish treatment of Obama by his most loyal fans. Obama should be held to the same standard as all other presidents. As I pointed out, the endless requests for birth certificates, grades, etc. ARE NO DIFFERENT from WHITE candidates who had to go through the same thing. But in Nelson’s eyes, she has to guard Obama’s lack of promised transparency with baseless charges of racism. Obama’s her boy, and she is treating him just like one.

So I leave Ms. Nelson with this question: Explain in factual (not theoretical) terms how a request that has been made to other White candidates on both sides of the aisle is suddenly “racism”? Nelson’s point would make sense if past presidents were not challenged on this issue, but history is not on her side on this one. Just a lot of theatrics.
