I take issue with you blaming HIV transmission on the “gay/lesbian community” (instead of MSM, for instance).

Risky sexual behavior that lead to STDs can be found in BOTH heterosexuals and homosexuals. In this post I exclusively called out the GLBT community on their contribution to this issue in DC and now you have a problem with that.

Since you willingly skipped over what I said in this post, allow me to post the excerpt you are referring to:

"But again, I’m looking at the leading causes of this dreaded disease. And it just so happens that those leading causes are very commonplace in the gay/lesbian community.

What do I mean when I say "causes"?

Risky sexual behaviors as I pointed out some of them in this post. While the HIV rate amongst lesbians is much lower than that of men, other STDs such as herpes, genital warts, bacterial vaginosis, etc. are not uncommon diseases amongst lesbians. Risky sexual behavior has also been linked to an increase of cervical cancer amongst this same group. Making the claim that lesbians are at the same risk of contracting HIV/AIDS is your error, not mine. But again, risky sexual behavior leads to any assortment of STDs. So lesbians have no high ground in this matter.

(instead of MSM, for instance)

Okay, now you are trying to thread a needle here. Last I checked, there was no membership card issued for those who have sex with the same sex. A man who has a sexual encounter with another man is gay--period. How often he does it does not matter (unless of course he has completely abandoned that lifestyle).

I look forward to your debate w/ Amanda, so won't go into all of the problems with this post. I take issue with you blaming HIV transmission on the "gay/lesbian community" (instead of MSM, for instance). Lesbians have the lowest HIV rates out of any group. Your insistence on throwing the blame on lesbians as well leads me to believe that you're not really interested in the 'facts' as you insist, but in using these unfortunate statistics about HIV to bash all gays and justify discrimination against them.
