I am both saddened and angry over the shooting that took place at Fort Hood yesterday. While 13 soldiers lost their lives and many others were wounded, if Guantanamo is a guide on how we handle terrorist he will get the royal treatment in prison.

“How is that prayer mat working for ya? We can get you another one if you like.”
“Need a Koran? No prob! We’ll have one brought to you just after we finish ironing your prayer robe.”

And while we’re at it, make sure we get him a cell facing east.

I heard about the following recently, but I just took the time this morning to read it.

Article 1

“Roland Emmerich is willing to murder billions of people in his films, blow up the planet, and end life as we know it; but there’s one thing that stops him cold: Islam. Emmerich tells Sci-Fi that he’d originally planned to include a scene in his new disaster movie 2012 where the Kaaba was destroyed. It’s a cubed shaped building in Mecca and one of Islaam’s holiest sites.

So why’d he back off? You know why. Because he’s afraid of Muslims. Emmerich says, ‘my co-writer Harald said I will not have a fatwa on my head because of a movie.’ Bear in mind that in this same movie he utterly demolishes the Vatican while wiping out a bunch of Buddhist monks and no one seems to care.

Article II

On why he destroys the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro:

“Because I’m against organized religion,”

On the Kaaba:

“Well, I wanted to do that, I have to admit,” Emmerich says. “But my co-writer Harald said I will not have a fatwa on my head because of a movie. And he was right. … We have to all … in the Western world … think about this. You can actually … let … Christian symbols fall apart, but if you would do this with [an] Arab symbol, you would have … a fatwa, and that sounds a little bit like what the state of this world is. So it’s just something which I kind of didn’t [think] was [an] important element, anyway, in the film, so I kind of left it out.”

But I thought you were against organized religion? I also thought it was a religion of peace?

Duane:

I am getting ready to send an e-mail to my son’s public school Social Studies teacher. He is an “A” student on his new school (public school now) but my husband is worried that it will hurt his grades on that class. It has to do that at his school the 7th graders were being taught about the Muslim religion and so, forth.

I forward his teacher the 1954 Social Studies test and reminded her that many of students probably do not know or understand their own country constitution and that more emphasis should be placed on learning our own American history.

I do not mean to be anti- Muslims but, I think that portraying the religion as a very peaceful religion to 12 years old I think falls on the line of indoctrination….

The e-mail to the teacher read as following:
—————————–

Dear Mrs. XXX

I believe that the 7th graders were shown a video called the “30 Days As a Muslim” a 44 minutes video. I looked at some information regarding this video in the internet and it claims the following “…Intended only for mature audiences. Viewer discretion advised”.

http://www.videosift.com/video/30-Days-As-A-Muslim-44mins

I am just curios why the video labelled for “…Mature Audiences. Viewer discretion advise” is shown to 12 year old students without the parents notification or permission.

In one of the parts of the video (Day 27) there is a comparison between the Oklahoma Bombing and 9/11 as being one of the same act or attack. In another segment near Day 27 a Muslim Leader tried to clarify to the main Character David that…” As a Muslims I do not need to apologized for 9/11…” when the main Character David suggested that American Muslims should publicly reject the actions of Muslim terrorists.

It seems that the video was shown to emphasize tolerance and understanding toward Muslims in the United States and the Muslim religion and that Islam is a religious of peace.

I know that in your class you are addressing other religious such as Christianity, Judaism and now the Muslim religion. But, from what I understand only 1% of the population in the USA is of the Muslim religion. So, why the lenghly emphasys on this subject such as assigments given below?

This whole incident reeks of Grade A bovine scat. This is one of the rare times that I agree with Obama during his presidency when he says not to jump to conclusions. That doesn’t mean I’m likely to agree with his conclusion when he reaches it, but…too many conflicting reports, waaay too many conflicting reports…and he wasn’t KILLED IMMEDIATELY, on an Army base? Someone, please, open a window…the smell is DISTRACTING…
(This is why I won’t touch the pseudoscience called psychiatry with a ten-foot pole.)

As far as 2012 is concerned, we know why Emmerich didn’t pulverize the Pyramids. He knows best than to mess with Kemet!

Let’s be clear. The Oklahoma attack and 9/11 can be compared. They were acts of terror. One fueled by the literal translation of a religious book (Quran) and the other by ill perceived governmental controls. The only difference is the number of people killed. If he would have had his way everyone in the building would have died. Do you think the men and women that died in either case felt any less terror because of the religion of their murderer. It amazes me that people don’t want their children to have exposure to Islam (tomorrow it will be something else). I want my son to be exposed to a vast array people and cultural. This world is getting smaller and smaller. Your community is made up of a wide variety of people. No one has condemned ALL Rwandan Hutu’s for the slaughter of 800,000 Tutsis. No one blames all whites/Europeans for the slave trade. So why do we condemn Islam for what extremist are doing? If we as Americans don’t open our eyes to the fact that we must change our views on other cultural then we will continue to walk in fear. I heard more hate speech from my white professors in college than I ever did in my days as a Muslim… But I’m just saying….
