Al Sharpton knows how to make (skilled) noise. But West is asking good questions to Sharpton, but he has no answer. Just noise. Sharpton has been anointed to spread the “good news” of the Obama administration, so he has no creditability in this discussion.
It gets really good right around the 10 minute mark. West and Tavis thought they were getting a president that was going to speak out against things like Black men getting frisked, poor Black kids that don’t have food to eat, the Black male prison rate, etc. That was their mistake. Obama is the President of the United States, and as much as people want to make Obama “the homeboy next door”, he is not. Sharpton is right that Obama can’t do everything, but this same president has been handing out waivers to his own health care initiative to the very people Sharpton and West like to demonize. No one on the panel cared to mention that fact. As I said before, what Black man would make a “civil right” optional?
I have said over and over again before, during the elections and after Obama got elected that some of his staunchest critics are going to be his fan base. Why? Because their expectations of him were too high for any mortal man.
–Velma Hart needs to get a serious grip on US history and some real perspective.
–Ed Schultz (leading the witness)
–Robert Traynham mentions that there is a “whispering campaign” amongst Black leaders and Liberals who are asking “Where is my President”. He said that many of them suggest that he is spineless on the issues.
NOW WHEN ALL THIS STUFF WAS BROUGHT UP BEFORE THE ELECTION, THESE SAME NEGROES CALLED YOU A SELLOUT FOR POINTING THIS SAME MESS OUT.
