Not only was this guy historically false, but the people Amen’d him as if he was preaching the Word. Don’t get me started on the organ player in the background.
1825 Florida Slave and free black homes searched for guns for confiscation. “An Act to Govern Patrols,” 1825 Acts of Fla. 52, 55 – Section 8 provided that white citizen patrols “shall enter into all negro houses and suspected places, and search for arms and other offensive or improper weapons, and may lawfully seize and take away all such arms, weapons, and ammunition… .”

What I find especially saddening is how this White cop is basically telling these Black folks is that they are too ignorant to handle guns. Black folks have a long history of using guns in a responsible manner. What has happened over the past few decades? The deterioration of a family structure that would have taught these young men today how to be responsible.
I’m willing to bet that this same police chief has an entire cache of guns at his disposal when he is off duty. Why not responsible Black folks who want to protect themselves and their communities?
