Observation 1~
It’s funny how when just a little over 2 years ago, commentators like CNN’s Roland Martin apparently had no problem with then candidate Barack Obama not answering critics immediately regarding his involvement with Rev. Wright. I don’t recall CNN’s Don Lemon ever revealing to his audience that long ago he was a victim of racism during the “Wright” fiasco either. But that did not stop these two negroes and others for putting up a fit that Bishop Long was not immediate in his response to the allegations levied against him.
I’m not injecting politics in this issue. It is already soaked with politics. It is no secret that the media is only fascinated with this story because of Long’s stance on the issue of homosexuality and same sex marriage.
Observation 2~
For those of you who listen to some of the main national Black radio morning/afternoon shows, have you ever noticed how many of them will from time to time casually slip in their support for same sex marriage? Once they do that, they usually immediately follow it up with some comedy. Why? Because they know that most of Black America does not agree with them on that issue.
Observation 3~
I’m seeing a lot of hate coming from folks who simply do not like large churches. But I always find it interesting that very little is ever said publically about the same type of foolishness taking place in smaller churches all across America. This is not a mega church problem, this is a sin problem.
Observation 4~
We need to have some of these public discussions on the state of the church. Why then is it so hard for people and the media to have the same type of discussions regarding mosques? I mean, this is an “open” society, right?
Observation 5~
Back to what I touched on with point #2.
Why is it okay to completely clown Long through all of this mess on Facebook, but when someone asks a serious question about the biblical view of homosexuality, most Facebook christians go mute. Why? Because talking about stuff like that on Facebook isn’t proper Facebook “etiquette”.
More of what is intentionally being left out of the online dialogue by folks who just have an axe to grind.
(Hint: He ALREADY stated that the charges were false. What more were critics looking for him to say, I don’t know)
