The recent reversal of a ban on pictures of coffins returning from Iraq/Afghanistan has nothing to do with keeping the public informed. Instead, the caskets themselves serve as the perfect empty slate needed for the anti-war crowd to fill in their own commentary. If these folks were really interested in who was inside those coffins, they could easily check newspapers all around the country that have been covering the lives of many of these heroes since the war began.

See, it hard to make the case that these brave men and women were tricked into fighting in Iraq/Afghanistan. Especially when you include their own personal stories that tell us of soldiers who in many cases considered fighting for the freedom of others an honor. Instead, let’s just focus on the caskets.
