The Monroe Free Press (Black newspaper) has just published the following editorial calling out local government.

Local black government officials often embarrass our race
Do we hold them to a lower standard of accountability?

There are some actions by our local black officials that are embarrassing.

Three of our local governing bodies are controlled by blacks. How they operate sets the tone for others that will follow them. Right now, all three are involved in some embarrassing activities that the white media finds it awkward to criticize without being labeled as racist.

We have a black mayor and predominately black city council. Isn’t it strange that when the workers in a whole department complained that their department head referred to some workers as “niggers” that nothing was done?

Blacks run city hall, if there had been a white mayor the community would have been screaming “racism.” Yet, when workers produced a tape of the department head’s comments and presented it to city officials it was later returned without being heard.

With blacks in charge, the city has sponsored or co-sponsored numerous “black” events, many of which lost thousands of dollars as well as exposed our youth to vulgarity, thuggery and onstage sex acts sponsored with the public dollar.

Board president Brenda Shelling blames the Newsstar for picking on Black members by pointing out these inconsistencies, but this paper has been more critical than the Newsstar, yet we are not accused. Why? Because we are black owned? Blame us too!

The fact is, right now black folks are in charge of these three governments. All elected officials must be held accountable for their actions. They cannot hide behind their race and accuse all who question their actions as racist.

Racism cannot be tolerated from the city because the leaders are black. (more…)

This same argument can be applied to just about every major city in America
