That is not marriage. That is called an arrangement.
Any man who cheats on his wife does not respect his wife. Mo’Nique is basically saying here that she is not good enough, no matter how many times she may say “I’m secure”. And that is sad.

But Duane, it works for them.

If this is an arrangement (and it is), then it will work. But don’t call it marriage.

It’s whatever THEY decide it is. They own their marriage. I don’t know what all the talk is about. She said the same thing when they first got married. So what’s the big deal now? It does not work for me, I don’t see it as sound judgment but at the end of the day….. they are the ones who have to live with it. The hairy leg thing is a bit much…I love her but DAMN!

You’re correct Nona “It is whatever THEY decide it is” and yes, “…they are the ones who have to live with it.” And in this case THEY have decided that it is an “arrangement”. Because when they stood together in the ceremony they pledge themselves to each other not Tom, Dick, Harry, Mary, Betty and Sue too.

We are responsible for the choices that WE make and that includes ANY consequences that result from that free will choice. But you and I KNOW that this “arrangement” will not last. Monique has been cheated on and disappointed by men in the past and this is her defense mechanism just in case this one fails her. Her attittude is “What man doesn’t sleep around?” So to keep from getting hurt again, she gives her permission up front. But trust me, this will not last…watch and see.
